We built the platform we wish existed when we were 17.
A decision this big — one that shapes careers, immigration outcomes, and entire life trajectories — deserves more than a consultant's recommendation or a rankings table.
The existing system is broken.
Not broken in an obvious way. Broken in a quiet way — where students make million-rupee decisions with biased advice, incomplete data, and no visibility into what actually happens after graduation.
Consultancies with conflicts of interest
Most study abroad consultants earn commissions from specific universities. Your advice is shaped by their revenue, not your future.
Rankings without context
QS rank 50 vs rank 80 means almost nothing for employability, immigration, or ROI. Yet rankings dominate every conversation.
Information without intelligence
Thousands of websites list university data. None of them tell you which choice is actually right for your specific grades, budget, goals, and family situation.
Outcome blindness
Everyone tells you where to apply. Nobody shows you what happens after you graduate. Salary, visa, debt, career — the things that actually matter are invisible.
Intelligence, not information.
MyDegree is not a database. The internet already has databases. What it doesn't have is a system that takes your specific situation — your grades, your family's budget, your immigration goals, your career aspirations — and tells you what is actually right for you.
We call this decision intelligence. It's the difference between knowing that MIT is a great university and knowing whether MIT is the right choice for a student from Chennai with a 92% CBSE score, a ₹80L budget, and a goal of working in AI research.
For that student, the answer might be TU Munich (near-zero tuition, world-class AI research, EU career pathway) — not MIT, despite MIT's global reputation.
We surface that kind of insight. That's what we mean by intelligence.
Five beliefs we build from.
Outcomes over rankings.
A university ranked #300 globally might be the perfect choice for your specific goals. A university ranked #5 might be the worst financial decision of your life. Rankings are a shortcut. Outcomes are the truth.
Transparency over persuasion.
We tell you when the numbers don't add up. We tell you when a university is a stretch. We tell you when the immigration pathway is genuinely difficult. Honest intelligence, even when it's uncomfortable.
Decision confidence over information overload.
The internet is full of information about universities. What's rare is clarity. We reduce complexity into decision confidence — a clear, honest, explainable view of what's right for you.
Families, not just students.
Education decisions aren't made by students alone. Parents fund, worry, and shape these choices. We built Parent Mode so both perspectives are served with intelligence and respect.
Intelligence over commissions.
We earn from subscriptions, not from university referrals. Our recommendations are never influenced by who's paying us a placement fee. This isn't just ethical — it's our entire business model.
What we promise.
Not a mission statement. Not marketing copy. Specific, auditable commitments.
We are not a consultancy.
We do not take referral fees from universities.
We do not inflate confidence scores to look impressive.
We do not hide bad outcomes.
We do not pretend the immigration path is easy when it isn't.
We are on your side.
How we handle data.
Every data point on MyDegree comes from a trackable source — university websites, government immigration portals, official graduate outcome surveys, QS/THE rankings, national statistics agencies.
We assign a confidence score to every record. When data is freshly verified from an official source, it scores 0.95+. When it's estimated from proxies, it scores lower — and we tell you that.
We update data annually for tuition fees, rankings, and scholarship amounts. Immigration policy changes are monitored continuously — this is where small changes can have massive consequences for users.
The decision is yours.
The intelligence is ours.
We're here to make you more confident, not to make the decision for you. Start with your profile. See what the intelligence shows you.
